Samina Ali and Amy Drendel, the Bottom Line includes a pain scale to measure the child's pain and outlines the physical, psychological, and pharmacological ways to treat pain.

Our Bottom Line Recommendation and Evidence Repository for intussusception have been updated as part of our two-year review process. Intussusception is the most common abdominal emergency of early childhood and is usually idiopathic. The vast majority of cases (80%) occur in children less than 2 years, with the most frequent age range being 5-10 months.
