Video for Healthcare Providers: Pain Care

Description

This education session on Pediatric Emergency Knowledge to Care: From Evidence to Comfort in Pain Care took place on March 17, 2026. This session was organized by the University of Manitoba, TREKK and Pediatric Emergency Research Canada (PERC), presented by Dr. Samina Ali

Please note that at the time of presentation of the March 2026 PERC-TREKK rounds, preliminary evidence based on a published abstract was presented regarding IV ketorolac dosing. It was suggested during these rounds (by Dr. Ali)  that pediatric dosing for IV ketorolac could be reduced to low-dose  (max 10mg) or low weight-based dosing (0.25 mg/kg). Upon completing and verifying their final analyses, the team has since revised their findings and have shown that their trial evidence supports the use of standard dosing of IV ketorolac (0.5 mg/kg, 30 mg maximum). The lower dose regimens did not meet the pre-defined criteria for non-inferiority. Please forgive this error in the presentation. Slides 3, 14, and 15 have changed since this March 2026 presentation. Please contact Dr. Ali @ sali@ualberta.ca if you have any questions or concerns.
