Are we ready to commit nationally to emergency care for children?
When a child is sick or injured, our health system usually delivers excellent care. That’s good news. Yet the adage that “children are not small adults” – and have specific medical needs – reflects the challenge still facing most Canadian emergency departments.
Check out the TREKK opinion piece that was published in Policy Options. Written by TREKK Network Director, Dr. Terry Klassen, and KT Coordinator, Leah Crocketty, the piece discusses the gaps in children's emergency care and the importance of funding.
