Nov 14, 2013: Congratulations to Dr Shannon Scott, TREKK Needs Assessment Coordinator, who has been awarded a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Knowledge Translation in Children's Health.
Shannon is an associate professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on Knowledge Translation - a process that guides the latest knowledge into clinical practice to improve the health of Canadians. Her 'translating Evidence in Child Health to enhance Outcomes' (or ECHO) research program aims to improve the health outcomes of children in Alberta and Canada through application of the best research evidence.
In 2000, the Government of Canada created the Canada Research Chairs program to provide Chairholders with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that supports research and leads to new discoveries and innovations.
