News Story: Guidelines for managing child pain in the ED

A recent research review lead by Dr. Samina Ali of the University of Alberta and TREKK co-content advisor for pain, is giving doctors and nurses advice on the best ways to treat children and youth while reducing the pain that they feel. Dr. Ali hopes to convert the results of that review into a one-stop set of guidelines to be used by health professionals across the country and notes that there are a lot of simple and cheap steps that can be taken in any healthcare setting to decrease pain and distress for children.
