On Friday, April 5, a team from Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg (HSC Winnipeg) traveled to Brandon, Manitoba to provide a TREKK education session at the Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC). The team included four pediatric emergency medicine specialists, two members from TREKK's administrative team, and representatives from the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) mobile education program.
Healthcare professionals from BRHC attended the session and six other sites connected via webinar to receive education on pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis, burns, fever, sepsis, asthma, and common rashes. Attendees also took part in simulation exercises on the STARS mobile simulation unit.
The overall feedback from the session was very positive and the team did a fantastic job – great work everyone!
