Date: This is not a timed event.

Physical child maltreatment is any action by a caregiver resulting in or presenting a significant risk of physical harm to a child. Infants and toddlers are at the highest risk for death due to maltreatment. TREKK has developed a new Bottom Line Recommendation (BLR) to help healthcare providers better recognize and manage physical abuse in the ED.

In addition to the BLR, Emergency Medicine Cases released a podcast on managing and recognizing physical child abuse earlier this year.

Read the BLR here.
