TREKK Webinar with CAPHC (part 2): Bridging the Research to Practice Gap

Register now for a free TREKK webinar on May 21st from 10-11.30am (CST). TREKK co-directors, Drs. Mona Jabbour and David Johnson will lead the webinar and focus on how we are using results from our nationwide needs assessment to help general emergency departments across Canada better access, adapt and implement new knowledge in pediatric emergency care.  The clinical conditions and resources we are focusing on will be discussed as well as lessons learned from other implementation projects.

This is the second webinar in a two part series with CAPHC Presents. The first webinar took place last February and told the story of TREKK – why the Network was started and the results of our first phase – the Needs Assessment – which included a national iPad survey of over 2850 healthcare professionals and consumers at 32 general emergency departments to determine their knowledge needs and preferences.

The Globe and Mail - Children’s pain undertreated in hospital ERs, research suggests

University of Alberta researcher, Dr. Samina Ali, was interviewed by the Globe and Mail about her study on the treatment of children's pain in general emergency departments.  Dr. Ali mentions her study is a 'call to action' that more can be done to lower the risk for the undertreatment of pain in children – and that better policies should be created and implemented across Canada. TREKK is highlighted as an initiative working to improve general emergency practitioners' access to pediatric resources and education.
